Government of Maharashtra has planned to develop rural areas along with the urban through Maharashtra Samruddhi Mahamarg. The uniqueness and specialties of this project can be explained through different perspectives. Besides using new technology this project will make journeys safe, comfortable and speedy using bridges, flyovers and tunnels wherever required. MSRDC has taken several important decisions regarding this. Let us find out more about such structures through this blog
Once the alignment of the Maharashtra Samruddhi Mahamarg was finalised, a detailed study of the area through which it will pass was done by engineers and the related officers before the actual work began. Most people think that Maharashtra Samruddhi Mahamarg is just a road that is going to be built. But, in reality, the construction of a road requires a lot of studying. This study consists of plotting the road through several naturally occurring barriers in its path like rivers, valleys, forests and mountains. The engineers plot tunnels, bridges and flyovers without disturbing these naturally occurring landforms and water bodies. As far as the Maharashtra Samruddhi Mahamarg is concerned, this study has already been done by the administration and the bridges, tunnels and flyovers are planned at the relevant places.
In Package 1, within Nagpur and Wardha districts, 3 bridges at Dhamnaadi-Akavi and 2 bridges at Sukali-Wayfal will be built. 1 bridge each at Khapori to Borgaon, Borgaon to Khairi Khurd, Khairi Khurd to Ghodeghat, Haladgaon-Vadgaon, Kinhala-Itala, Gangapur-Kotamba and Nijampur-Pimpalgaon will be built. One bridge on the river and one viaduct at Itala-Yela is also proposed. 2 viaducts and 1 bridge is proposed at Gangapur-Kotamba.
Package 2 consists of Amravati, Washim and Buldhana. 5 viaducts at Waghjai-Pimpalkhuta, 4 viaducts at Yedshi to Kurula, 3 at Mandwa to Pangari and 1 viaduct each at Palaskhed, Hivarkhed, Deulgaon Kol and Gok Sangvi are proposed. 4 bridges on the river at Talni-Kadshi and 2 bridges at Goundhla are proposed. 1 bridge each at Ashtha, Pathanpur, Javla, Shelu Natva, Regaon, Hivarkhed are proposed out of which some will be built on the river.
In Package 3 along Jalna to Aurangabad, 2 viaducts at Daulatabad and 1 viaduct at Ahankar Deulgaon are proposed. 4 bridges at Ahankar Deulgaon to Gundewadi, 3 bridges at Rajewadi to Bendewadi, 2 at Fatiyabad and Lasur Gaon and 1 bridge each at Navhaa, Gopalpur, Dahegaon and Pimplagaon are proposed.
In Package 4 for Nagar and Nashik, a total of 7 bridges – 4 on rivers and 3 at other places are proposed. In Package 5, between Igatpuri and Wadpe, 5 tunnels are proposed. A bridge on the river Darana at Naygaon and 1 bridge at Shende to Khutawadi and at Chiradpada on the Bhatsa River are proposed. 3 bridges are proposed from Dalkhan to Ratandhale while 1 bridge each at Kamra-Golbhan, Khordi and Shele are proposed.
Thus, the natural landscape along the entire stretch of Maharashtra Samruddhi Mahamarg will be preserved. MSRDC is committed to providing a safe, speedy and comfortable travel experience between Mumbai and Nagpur while preserving the natural landscape occurring along the stretch by building bridges, tunnels and viaducts.
